2XU X District Vision Collaboration Collection for Extreme Races Unveiled
Gear Designed for the Intense Heat of Death Valley
2XU and District Vision have launched a collaboration collection developed through the Desert Basin Exploration Program. This research focused on creating gear for the extreme conditions of Death Valley, where temperatures can reach 56.6°C (134°F) during a 135-mile race.
The result is a hybrid compression layering system using lightweight French technical fabrics and color theory to maximize UV protection, cooling, and breathability. Insights from sunglass lens technology were also applied to create the ultimate race-ready kit.
The collection features PWX mesh compression arm and calf guards, which protect muscles, reduce fatigue, and offer 40+ UPF sun protection. Harvey Lewis demonstrated the gear's effectiveness by completing his 13th consecutive Badwater 135 wearing the collection.
The collaboration is available on the official websites of 2XU and District Vision.
