MingYes project's association exhibition

Mingyes Project participates as an exhibiting artist in the lounge project at the SeMA.

This leisure space project installs site-specific works in the museum's idle spaces, demanding users' activities and performances to tactfully and materially intervene in citizens' daily lives. The goal is to lower the museum's threshold and diversify opportunities for cultural enjoyment.

The "Lounge Project" is part of the SeMA's idle space project, specifically adopting the flagship store concept. It aims to create a space on the third floor of the exhibition hall where the museum's visual and intangible identity can be naturally experienced. To achieve this, they symbolically used "Green Grass," resembling the museum with connected indoor and outdoor spaces and exterior walls made of plant landscaping.

In this green-themed space designed by Non-standard Studio, Mingyes Project's "<association (Community)>" is exhibited. In this work, the images of processed plants and the vitality they reveal touch on the aesthetic essence exposed by artificial art, while also experimenting with the boundaries of art. This aligns with the direction of the Seoul Metropolitan SeMA, which seeks to experiment with the boundaries of art.

"<association (Community)>" is set up as a comfortable and warm lounge, also a place where museum programs can take place. This setting allows visitors to experience the intangible identity of the SeMA freely and flexibly. The exhibition runs until May 8, 2022, so, with the weather getting warmer, visiting the SeMA to see Mingyes Project's artwork and other exhibitions is recommended.
