Maharishi launches 'M.A.L.I.C.E' capsule collection in celebration of 30th anniversary
Design Inspired by 1970s military apparel
To commemorate its 30th anniversary, Maharishi(@maharishi) has released a capsule collection titled 'M.A.L.I.C.E' (Modified All-purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment), drawing inspiration from 1970s military attire.
Established in 1994 by Hardy Blechman, Maharishi, based in the UK, is a brand that produces clothing under the principles of environmental sustainability, fair trade, and high-quality craftsmanship, driven by an exploration of industrial workwear.
Continuing its functional approach inspired by military design ethos, the collection pays homage to the design language of the U.S. military's transport system from the 1970s, 'ALICE' (All-purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment).
Designed with a harness-based system influenced by ALICE to evenly distribute weight across the shoulders, waist, and hips, the 'M.A.L.I.C.E' collection comprises various utility military-style bags and accessories suitable for urban and natural terrains. The products include field bags equipped with practical features such as pouch pockets, straps, patch pockets, flap pockets, compression straps, and quilted lining, offering versatility for lightweight excursions.
Maharishi's 30th-anniversary capsule collection is available on the official Maharishi website.
