SOMA museum sports art exhibition special exhibition ‘MOM∞MAM: Möbius of MOM and MAM’
Story of sports and art that challenges and overcomes the limits of body and mind.
From April 1st to August 7th, you can visit the exhibition 'Body∞Mind: The Möbius of Body and Mind' at the SOMA Museum.
This exhibition is anticipated for its exploration of the cultural, historical, and relational aspects of the convergence of sports and art, challenging the limits of body and mind through artistic works that combine sports and art. Participating in this exhibition are artists from 10 countries and 17 teams, including Marina Abramović, Sadik Wafir, James Harris, Park Je-sung, Oh Min-soo, Yoo Ji-hyun, Lee Sang-bong, presenting a total of 35 pieces of art. Curator Kim Seung-min stated, "In the current situation where dystopian scenarios are unfolding due to the pandemic and climate change, I wanted to emphasize humanity by highlighting the commonality of art and the spirit of sports."
Through three themes: 'BodyBody,' which tells the story of the beauty of the human body from an artistic perspective while enjoying sports, 'Ready & Go,' depicting the new pioneering aspects of sports and art alongside scientific advancements, and 'Bravo,' showcasing the intersection of the limits of the physical and mental through the challenges of sports and art, this exhibition provides an opportunity to explore new interpretations and imaginings of sports and art.
