The 1st Alpine Ski WhiteSpace Sprint Competition took place at Phoenix Park in Pyeongchang on March 6th.

The Alpine Ski WhiteSpace Sprint Competition is an event where participants ski up the slope and then race through a downhill course. It has been officially adopted as a discipline for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy.

Scarpa sponsored the White Space Sprint Competition, and participants ranged from domestic enthusiasts to elite athletes.

The on-site spectators' reactions exceeded expectations, and many were captivated by the appeal of the race, which goes beyond traditional downhill skiing and involves uphill, downhill, and traversing specific sections.

Another interesting fact is that over 90% of the participants in the competition were wearing Scarpa boots. In fact, Scarpa pioneered the development of plastic telemark boots, securing a unique position in the global market for alpine and backcountry ski boots.
